OUR MISSION

Sweet P Bakery is a 501(c)(3) non profit bakery. We are dedicated to providing job training and employment for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Sweet P Bakery will provide opportunities for personal growth, a source of income, social interaction, life skills coaching and a sense of purpose.

We are Proud – we graduated our very first Baking 2 class on March 15, 2021. We are getting ready to begin our next Baking 1 training program starting this Fall 2022.

Sweet P’s delicious items are now sold exclusively at The Porch located at 161 Cross Highway, Westport .

Course Descriptions

Eligibility: Must be 18 yrs of age or older

Baking 1
(Foundations)

New class TBD

Includes learning safety, measurement, use of equipment and preparation of baked goods. Also includes working on “soft” skills development such as problem-solving, communication, team work and professionalism.

Baking 2
(Signature Items)

New class TBD

This class is for students who have successfully completed Baking 1 and includes learning how to make all the products we sell at The Porch.

* Students must graduate from Baking 1 before taking Baking 2

Internship

This is offered after students successfully graduate from Baking 2.

Sweet P Bakery’s Baking 2 students are truly unstoppable! Our students spent this session mastering the recipes of the items that will be sold at The Porch this Spring. Their commitment, hard work and a ton of baking has earned our Baking 2 students a 4-week internship at Sweet P Bakery. They are on their way to becoming our very first SBP employees!

Sweet P Bakery wishes that our students were with us continuing to train and bake, but we have made the difficult decision to temporarily pause the program in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.  The health and safety of our students, staff and local community remains of highest priority.  We are looking for ways to help our local community during this extremely stressful time.
